Part 17: Natural History of the Peace River Region

 

This section will grow slowly as articles are commissioned and prepared for inclusion. When complete, there will be information about the environment, geology, paleontology, climate, wildlife and natural vegetation of the region. This photo shows an example of the cactus (opuntia fragilis) which grows on the south-facing banks of the Peace River, much to the surprise of people expecting only sub-arctic plants.
